Rain Kills Westfield's NJASBL Season

Westfield White was forced to withdraw from the New Jersey All Star Baseball League Playoffs as a result of scheduling conflicts and playoff deadlines. Westfield was in the 4th inning of a quarter final round game with South Orange Maplewood and they had just started to come alive offensively when thunder halted play. Shortly afterwards lightening and heavy rains came forcing a cancellation of the game. The NJASBL mandated that all semi-final round games be completed by Monday, July 27th and because the quarter and semi final round games could not be completed today, Westfield had no choice but to withdraw due to conflicts with the Cal Ripken State Tournament Championship game on Monday.

Westfield plays next against Bridgewater on Monday at 6:00 PM in Hillsborough in the Cal Ripken State Tournament Championship game.
