Westfield White bats came alive against Basking Ridge National and White won the NJABL game by the score of 11-4. While the offense was banging out hits -- 13 in total -- the Westfield's pitchers were holding Ridge bats in check. Hopper "The Hawk" Murray, Eric "Bob" Varakian and Chris "Mariano" Varano combined to hold Ridge to 3 hits over 6 innings. The Hawk through 3 innings and Bob went 2 and 1/3. Mariano came on to retire the last 2 batters of the game for the save.
Chris "Boots" Boutsikaris led the offensive attack with 2 long doubles and Nick Mele, Chris Rinaldi and Chris Varano each had two hits. Mele, Varano and Tommy "Wheels" Summers each had 2 RBIs and Vin "Madman" Difilippo and Devin "The Animal" Anderson each had extra base hits that knocked in runs. Michale "Mobi" Mobarakai had a key hit and an RBI and Scott Tupper "Ware" added a key hit. The win places Westfield at 3-1 in NJABL play.
Next up for Westfield White is Long Hill on Thursday at 6 PM.
